I can't seem to loosen the cap (castle nut) that holds the buffer tube on my Colt M4......Do they use Loctite? I have the proper wrench to do this, but it wont budge. Any help would be appreciated! |
| How have you been trying to remove it? With a standard 1 tooth CAR-wrench? I busted mine trying to remove it off my factory 6-position bushmaster. I then bought a 3 tooth wrench and heated up the reciever for a while, and it finally came off. Just needed some serious leverage. |

Ok...........I figure it out. I had to go in like a dentist with the dremel tool and grind out the 2 areas that were 'staked'. I don't see why Colt needed to do this. I have never had a nut come loose before. It really made this more of a project that it should have been. Anyway, if any of you need dental work, I am pretty steady with the Dremel tool! |
Come on now, I treat mine pretty rough and none of them have ever come loose. Nice work samian! |
