I have a J&T carbine kit with a tactical shorty A2 stock. If I want to put a standard A2 stock on, do I need a different buffer or tube, or can I simply buy the A2 stock and use it with the existing tube and buffer?

You will need to purchase a A2 stock kit that has the correct buffer assembly.
