Putting together a non-freefloated, std barrel, general use 16" middy gun and it's time to pick a stock.

In the past all my guns had VLTOR stocks but Magpul Stocks look real nice for my app. Question: should i pick the CTR stock over the MOE just because the friction lock?

Is it that good that warrants the extra $$$?

I have no exp. with either unit and i will be having a run and gun next Saturday so some insight will be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys!!

I would always pick a CTR over the MOE just for the friction lock because it guarantees a solid feel.

had the same dilemma this past week.  CTR won out.

If you are used to VLTOR stocks and like the cheek weld, why not stick with them or maybe go with the ACS?

I have a MOE right now on my SBR, but I like the feel of the ACS on my 16" carbine.

I prefer the Vltor Imod over any other stock right now....

But to answer your question I would get the CTR with the friction lock, but even more important and worth the money IMO is that it comes with a QD sling mount as well.

I like the friction lock but I think the CTRs QD sockets are a more important advantage.
