| Sorry for no pic, so I have to try and describe what I saw. Looked to be an original colt ar15, no forward assist, full length rifle. 2 things baffled me, first the stock had this hook type feature along the bottom. Seems like you can hang rifle, muzzle facing down, from a clothes line. Second, it had this attachment on the carry handle that looked like an early version of a laser. This I see pics of in the pic thread, but what is it? Thanks for any help. |

Thats it! thats the stock and the sight. Ok now for the next question, what is this rifle worth in fair condition, and is the stock and sight original from that era? It is almost impossible to be able to assign a value to the rifle without knowing: 1. Who made the receiver 2. what the barrel length, profile, and markings are 3. upper receiver type 4. pictures It could be anything from a parts gun built up by a gunshow bubba build to an original three digit Colt SP1 with the stock swapped out. Without pics or at least a detailed description, the price could be anywhere from $600 to $1600. |

You can buy the stocks new today.
I've seen this type of stock on an interesting rifle at a local gun show . . . . . SP1 upper and a old Palmetto lower with the hooked buttstock and a fibreglass preforated free-float barrel shroud. Barrel was pencil-type, but looked to be about 24" long, and had an AK-74 type brake on it. I'd buy it, but the guy who has it thinks it's made out of gold. He's been trying to sell it for at least 3-4 years, but won't budge on price. |
