Greetings all. I'm a newbie and have recently taken delivery of my new AR. Question for those of broader experience out there, I've been looking at various weapon lights and have focused on a Streamlight M3 LED set up. I'm intrigued by the Xenon/LED combo. Xenon for more throw and the LED available as a low output option with the benefit of increased burn time for more mundane tasks like not falling on my ass. Any thoughts on this thing? Opinion? First hand experience/feedback? I'm aware that streamlight makes a dedicated vertical forend light with the led as an alternate built in light source and am considering it as well however my money loving heart cries out for the streamlight M3 LED as cheaper alernative. Still I'm open to suggestions and any thoughts you folks might have. C

The Streamlight M3-LED is adeqate but the main beam performance is lacking in comparison to the newer M3X & even TLR-1. The low output nav' LED on the M3-LED is nifty but I just don't feel that function is worth sacrificing the better performance of the M3X & TLR models. As for a vertical grip system w/ LED nav' lights, it'd be the Surefire M910/M900 you're thinking of. |
