I have been reading a lot of talk about the Vortex StrikeFire.  It really seems like it would fit the bill for me.

However, I am a little concerned... I will read one review saying that the dot is plenty bright and no problem at all in bright sunlight.  And then the very next review will say that the dot is not bright enough and gets washed out in bright sunlight.

Are these mixed reviews due to individual preference of brightness?  Or, are their some manufacturing variances that account for the differences in reviews.

This is sort of a big deal to me, as my eyes are red/green color deficient... as 10% of all men are.

Thx.

I personally have used one for a year now and have never had a problem seeing red or green and never have I had to turn up the brightness all the way.  I live in south east missouri and the sun is just as bright here as anywhere except maybe white sandy beaches. others have posted the sight washed out and I am not one to believe people would just make things like this up . so maybe it is an individuale thing but I do know if I had a problem vortex would fix it no questions ask .

It works fine for me.  I will note that the green dot is easier for me to pickup in bright sun, but I attribute to my old eyes.

There might have been some issues in the past. We recently became a Vortex dealer and the stock we received is nice and bright.

I love mine....there are like 10 different brightness settings.  There should be one that works fine for you!
