| I've built several lowers but after winning a LaRue barrel in their giveaway I'll be building my first upper. Other than forged versus billet, are there any real differences among stripped uppers? I'm going with a forged as the build will be on a forged lower. Are there any brands to avoid? Looking at what I can find in stock, I'm eyeing Rainier and BCM. Thanks in advance for any info. |

BCM is currently out of stock of there "normal" upper receivers. But they do have blems in stock: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Upper-Receiver-Assembly-M4-Flat-Top-demo-p/flat%20top%20-upper%20-m4%20demo.htm Read the reviews and a lot of folks say they can't find anything wrong with them or there is just a tiny, hard to find blemish. I received one last week and it has a thin surface rub mark most of the way along the left side, like maybe the receiver was dragged lightly over some parts on a bench when they were assembling. Nothing serious and can probably be covered up with oil, I imagine. |
