One of the builds I am working on, is for my wife
She likes the look of the stubby or LE /entry tactical stock, over the collapsable The info on the stock says it gives a weapon with a 16 inch barrel an over all length of 32 inches I will be useing a 16 inch barrel What does the total length of the weapon need to be to be legal? Next question can you slip a single point sling mount between reciever and stock? Hank |

Above poster answered your length question. The answer to your sling mount question is yes.
I used one from Brownells on my Sully. ETA: I used this one. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=31829/Product/AR-15-M16-A2-SINGLE-POINT-SLING-ADAPTER |

I used this one by Troy Ind. on one of my own carbines: http://troyind.com/%20/battleslings/troy-m16a4-sling-mount |

I think you need the A1 version for entry length stocks, but I could be mistaken. A1 screw will be too short, for a Sully stock. Sully uses an A2(3,4) screw. He has said before, to order plates/adapters for A2 (3,4). You'd have to shave enough off the back-end for an A1 screw to work. Below, is a Sully without their buttplate (it cycles perfectly). The Troy plate, I ordered, is their A4 kit. I had to make a new counter-sunk hole, so the screw head wouldn't protrude.

| Would like to point out that your local laws may be different. Im not familiar with PA, but in Michigan, while 26" is legal for federal, if it is less than 30" overall length it needs to be registered as a hand gun. But 32" should be ok, unless your state is REALLY sily. |
