Friend and I were shooting wolf at the range the other day and he had a failure to extract. The case is lodged in there pretty well and it's not budging. Tried to tap it out with the cleaning rod, no dice. Hammer and cleaning rod, no dice. Any other solutions or off to the gunsmith for him?

The best solution that immediately comes to my mind would be to spray oil around the casing and let it sit, then try the hammer and cleaning rod again.

PB Blaster down the barrel and let it sit over night standing up. Then a long dowel rod or cleaning rod and hit it with a hammer.

i had that exact the happen to me in my bushmaster using wolf ammo. but i did manage to tap it out with a cleaning rod.

And though i say tap, i did have to put a good bit of effort behind the motion.

good luck getting it out

Try kroil. Then rod + hammer again.

Happened to me once, it was in there so tight I broke dowels trying to get it out. Had to use a steel welding rod and hammer. When you get it out, get a chamber brush and put it on a cordless drill and clean the shit out of the chamber. Fixed my problem.

Close stock if a carbine, pull back on charging handle, smack butt against ground briskly. If the rim rips off, lock the bolt back, insert a bore rod and smack the casing out.

If the bolt is still in full battery, no amount of hammering on the spent shell through the barrel will dislodge the shell and take the bolt out of battery.

If the BCG is still loked in, you can "mortar" the weapon or you can remove the upper and gently pry the c arrier free. The bolt should rotate out of battery and the BCG and the spent shell should slide right out.

You might want to check to see if your ejector spring is still ok.

Same has happened to me with russian steel cased ammo in my 6920. Got lucky the first time, did the bump trick described a couple replies back, popped right out. The second time the rim sheared off the shell and the extractor couldn't grab it. Tried tapping it out with a cleaning rod, no go. Sprayed very light oil around the chamber and in the barrel. Let it sit over night, tapped right out the next morning. Got rid of the steel cased ammo, brass only now.

Well, it's happened to me twice and once was brass cased. I've fired tons of steel cased and only had one get stuck. Big deal.

This will happen when shooting steel case ammo if you don't clean your chamber well. Wolf is dirty. Scrub your chamber with a good chamber brush every 200-300 rounds to play it safe... Bring a spare rod to the range with you in case it happens and tap it out from the muzzle end.

Tried to tap it out with the cleaning rod, no dice. Hammer and cleaning rod, no dice.

Give it a good whack... you gotta lay into it.

Ahhh, the joy of Wolf ammo. Some rifles eat it all day, some get an occasional stuck case. It's a roll of the dice wit steel case ammo.

Now let the " my rifle eat's it like candy" replies begin....
