| Whats the differince between a carbine and a normal AR? |
|
Yes; generically, a carbine is simply a short rifle, often a shorter version of an existing rifle. A century ago, when rifles commonly had 30+" long barrels, carbine versions of those rifles might have 22-26" barrels. Since the 50s, most standard military rifles had barrels around 20+", and most carbine versions (if they existed) had barrels of 16" or shorter. These measurements are generally assumed these days when referring to "rifles" and "carbines." -Troy |
