Right now I have the standard grip on my Stag Arms 3H. It's small and a little slippery.

I would like a grip that keeps my hand in place better, and is more comfortable - I HATE this grip. I would Especially like to find something thicker, for large hands.

However, I would also like one that can be used when I am holding the rifle in awkward positions and opposite-hand, which may eliminate finger-groove grips.

Any suggestions?

The Ergo Deluxe is neither small nor slippery.

The hogue grip is my favorite. It is made for large hands and fits me perfectly but for people with smaller hands it feels wrong. For someone with large hands that actually fit the finger grooves the Hogue is perfection.

I've tried the standard $2.00 grip, Hogue, Ergo, and Magpul.  I prefer the Ergo.

Do the grooves on the hogue/ergo make it difficult the hold the rifle upside down, or over your shoulder?

Thanks.

The Ergo finger grooves are more like bumps.
Not pronounced at all.

Look into the Magpul MIAD grip. Highly recommed it

The Ergo is the largest of all the grips I've used (MIAD, MOE, Hogue, TD). It also is very sticky, even with sweaty hands. Like someone else said, the finger grooves are really more like bumps than pronounced grooves.

My personal favorite is the Hogue. I have smaller hands, though.
