Mine is a carbine length. What handguard should I get? Thanks! We need more info from you before we could answer your question. How much is your budget, how will you be using your carbine (short range/ long range/ bench/ plinking/ defense), do you prefer a non free floating or free floating handguard, will you be satisfied with a standard 7" long carbine length handguard or do you like it longer than that? There are different types of handguards some are easily installed drop-in, some you have to cut the delta ring, and some you have to remove the barrel nut. |

If you want to give him only one good suggestion that's fine, this is an open forum, but I would rather give the OP plenty of products to choose from and let him sort it out. Everyone does not need the heavy quad rails the military are currently using, there are newer free floating modular rails that small sections of rails could be installed at the sides and bottom of these modular handguards, which makes them lighter. Daniel Defense, Geissele, KAC, LaRue, Noveske, MI, Samson, Seekins Precision, Troy, Wilson Combat, and others makes these new version modular rails. OP, for reference here's a tacked thread about rail systems, there's a lot of info there to start with. FAQ: The Big Thread On FF and Railed Forends Here are some weight and dimensions info of most popular rails. Rail Systems - link |

fine, i'll be nice.
to the guy that asked "what handguards should I get?" my answer: it depends. there are a metric ton of answers to that question. if you don't tell anyone what it's for then you're simply starting a game of 20 Questions. it's the same thing as asking "i have a gun, what kind of ammo should i use?" you're either gonna have to figure it out for yourself (after doing your own research) OR you're going to need to be specific about it's use or purpose. help me... help you |
