I'm looking for a trigger with minimal creep and minimal travel. If anyone has ever shot a Remington 700 with a jewell trigger, that is exactly what I'm after. I tried the jewell trigger in my AR and wasn't impressed, i may need to fine tune it more. I've tried the geissele triggers and they felt pretty good. Is there a trigger built for the AR that feels like the Jewell trigger in R700's? Note: I don't plan to kick in doors and clear rooms with this gun, just shoot on the range so the light trigger weight is not an issue for me. Its all i shoot in my bolt guns. Many thanks! |

I've played with the HiperFire triggers, they are all very nice. I just put in a Battle Tested Equipment 3.5# single stage match trigger in a build and I do like the short pull and short reset distances.
My 3 gun AR has a Rock River NM 2 stage and it is also a nice trigger. However, my only other triggers I've experienced are gravel road mil-spec triggers. |
| i've got a Geissele SD-C in my AR and it's AWESOME. It's advertised as a 4.5# pull, and it's got the flat-faced trigger which is actually really cool. Or you can go with the SD-E which is a 3.5# trigger. Barely any take-up, short reset with a nice clean break. I know it's expensive, but i couldn't be happier. |

Have you tried the Geissele-High Speed National Match series ? There the best triggers they offer, much better than the SSA-E. |

Quoted: How much are you looking to spend OP? I have several RRA two stage triggers, they feel good but I just dont like the travel length. Just feels sloppy, but I'm used to my bolt guns. I think single stage is a must for me. I dont like the feel of the two stage. I wish they'd make an AR trigger lighter like the bolt guns, I see why they dont however.

Single stage seems to be the stopper. I too would buy a great single stage in the 3.5 - 4.5 range, if it did not cost more than 200 bucks....... CMC 3.5lb Single $140-170 I've had RRA NM, Bill Springfield tuned RRA NM, Bill Springfield tuned GI, ST Battle, SSA, SD3G, and CMC 3.5lb flat single, along with most brands factory trigger over the years since I've joined. They all have their merits, but for my latest build, a 2/3gun build, I wanted something like an "on-off switch". I got the SD3G since it got absolutely rave reviews everywhere, but it wasn't what I wanted for this one. The CMC is just right, very little travel, crisp break, verry short reset. I think it's about as short as a trigger could safely get on a non-bench gun. I hear great things about the Wilson TTU and JP triggers too, but never tried them. |

American trigger Co. ARGold.... its a "two stage", BUT the first stage is so light as to be non-existant... like 1/2 pound or less.... the second stage is more like a good target 22 that anything else I can describe. They also make an SRGold for the 308 variety of AR, and I'm saving my milk money to get one of those to go with the one in my Noveske Afghan.
simply superb.... YMMV as usual, but I recommend it in a heartbeat, and I've had Giselle, Chip McCormick, JP, Timney and Rock River (enhanced) all. |

I have a BS tuned RRA and it was great while it lasted (3000 or so rounds), but it now is full auto from time to time. Cool, but I'm allergic to handcuffs so I'm replacing it. I did try to adjust and then replace the springs....no bueno. |

They've given 4 or 5 new replacement triggers to my 3 gun friends. |

Yea, I doubt they'd replace it then. |

I've used the Timney AR-15 Competition single stage trigger (4# model), and it was very similar to the single stage trigger on my R700. I personally prefer two-stage triggers like the Geissele SSA/SSA-E, Hi-speed DMR, etc. Might give it a try if you want minimal take-up, etc. ETA: it's available in 3#, 4#, and 4.5# configurations. |
