My wife bought me a SureFire Light for me on Sat. I would like to know what model light i have . The light was the last one that the shop had and it was a display light, so i don't have any paper work or box for the light.

Go to the Surefire site here and you can download the catalog. I cannot tell for sure from that pic but it is obviously some sort of fore end dedicated light system...951 maybe?

M951C, revised version of the M951 with a slimmer body, and recontoured bezel.  Supposed to save 10% in weight over the M951XM07.

Very good light.

It's not an "M951C"
"C" indicates the SW02 'Clickie' or "Charlie" TailCap.
The "C" version has been phased out from the standard off-the-shelf options

The photo shows a current M951XMxx

M9 indicates that is an member of the Millennium Series Universal WeaponLights based on the MH90 Housing. In this case it has the current, 'diet' version of the MH90.

5 indicates that it has the LU60 Lamp Module (P60 Incandescent Lamp Assembly). In this case it has the current, 'diet' version of the LU60.

1 indicates that it has the M49 Dual Thumbscrew Picatinny Rail Mount.

XMxx indicates that it has the XM TailCap with an STxx remote tape pressure switch at the end of cable xx whole inches long. For example XM07 has a 7" cable.

I'm not entirely sure how long the cable is in the photo. It could be XM05?

The current M95 has been on a diet and does weigh about 10% less compared to the previous version. The change to the MH90 and the LU60 were made in-line and there is no change in model numbers.

Any chance of SF getting regulated Cree LED modules for these? I find the current SF LED modules lacking in comparison to the X300 and it bothers me that I have a $300+ M951XM07 weaponlight that gets blown away by a $200 X300 that's lighter and more efficient. Or, maybe I'm just imagining it.

Well the P60L LED module can replace the P60 in the M95, and SureFire intend to have a High Output version, the P61L with an output in the order of 200 lumens release later this year (if the rumours be believed)

It is possible that SureFire may decide to update their discontinued KL5 LED bezel with a high output LED, perhaps along the lines of the proposed KL9's 350 lumen output. They've not said anything though so it's a case of wait and see I guess.
