I see that the E1B Backup's pocket clip is reversible for bezel up or down carry. Is the Defender the same way or is it bezel up carry only?

The E2DL currently has a normal PocketClip rather than the two-way PocketClips featured on the E1B, A2L and LX2.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

I wish it was reversible.

Me too, that looks like a lot of bezel to have sticking out of your pocket.

E2DL single stage with LX2 clip. The LX2 clip makes this light IMO, as the E2DL has a long bezel. I am 10 times more likely to carry the light with this clip. Before, I would always take the E1B due to its lower profile out of the pocket.

Wow, that would make it perfect! How or where do I get a hold of that LX2 clip?

You have to buy an LX2.

I need another as well, to perhaps go back on my LX2, so if you locate a source please post it here...

SureFire don't sell their PocketClips as such - they have no model numbers.
But if you break yours you can call SureFire for a replacement.

At this 'early' stage in the release of the two-way PocketClip on SureFire's new LX2 and A2L I get the impression SureFire isn't as focused as some users on alternative uses for this new component. One hopes that in time SureFire will make it easier for those wanting to take advantage SureFire's two-way PocketClips on SureFire's existing models - for example by offering it as an accessory product people can purchase.

I sure wish they would.

The LX2's pocket clip is quite nice. I removed mine and gave it to a friend for his E2D since I have a different method of carrying mine now. By far the fastest flashlight draw possible, period. Grasp the light, thumb indexed on the momentary button, fingers around the shaft. pull towards the front. Imagine a dumb bell curl up to your chest. Bring the light onto your desired subject.
Being that it rides at the bottom of the magazine carrier, the loose shirt I pull over the pouch leaves the flashlight exposed. Sitting down in cars and on couches is a non-issue.

I threw the idea to Jay at Raven Concealment Holsters, and this is the design he came up with.

Could you explain the "single stage" comment? I thought that the E2DL had the "low" and "high" setting...which frankly is stopping me from buying one. I like the benifits of the LED, run time and LM brightness but want all out on the push of the switch and not to have to hit a second time. Have you found a way around this?

-yea- I second that I would like to know it there is a source on this clip pictured here.

Mine works like this: 1 click/push = Full Bore, 2nd Click Push = Low Beam. This means you can't strobe but I'm happy with it for my uses. My understanding was they were going to change this based upon feedback like yours but having looked at Surefire's website it doesn't look like they did.

I would be fine with that on an EDC light, but I am looking to mount this on a AR and for that I want the all on/all off.

Makes perfect sense but then wouldn't just about any other Surefire LED light work for you? Why do you want an E2D? The bezel? It's not like it serves a function if you have it on an AR.

No not specifically. My mount (that I already purchased: Vltor) is the "E" body style so I am looking for a light with one of those, I am not going to run a tape switch so I wanted a recessed push button, but my heart in not set on the E2D/E2DL. I just started looking.
