Hi everyone, I have a Surefire E2D defender model that recently just quit working. I thought that it could be due to batteries, so I switched them out for new batteries. When I turned the light on it worked, and then after I turned it off when I tried to turn it on a second time it didn't work. I then thought that it might be due to a broken lamp, but if it was, then why did it turn on the one time after I put in new batteries? Anyone have any clue what is going on here?

Thanks

It could be a that the filament has become detached at one end and it making intermittent contact... Or some similar situation.
How many battery sets have you put through your E2D?
If the bulb has only a couple sets of batteries then I suggest you give SureFire a call and explain what you're experiencing.

It's also worth pointing out that for some specific individual lights the bezel has to be screwed down really rather tight in order for everything to make good contact. If the PocketClip is preventing the bezel from being completely screwed on having a play to try to seat the clip further down in its attachment point may help.

Incadescent lamps don't have to follow the cycle of your batteries. There is always one last light up before it blows.

I have had to change the batteries about 2-3 times. I don't use it that often. I usually get the head down pretty tight...but I will look into it.

I gave and an E2D as a gift to a friend and he had a small problem with it involving the battery case. They had a new part fedexed to him the next day free of charge and he did not have to send the old part back.
Surefire customer for life.

Or you can always upgrade to KX2C LED head and it will last until it is buried with you.

Spend that $135 for once in a life time!
