I just acquired a brand new Surefire G2L. I wasn't paying careful attention when I ordered and thought I had purchased a G2 and also a P61 replacement lamp. I was going to use factory lamp as a backup to this or my other G2 that I own. Dumb me, I think I've screwed up my light. The lamp wouldn't come out and I started tugging with pliers and a screwdriver and totally butchered the factory lamp. If I would of looked at my other G2 to see how the lamp basically falls out when you unscrew the housing, I wouldn't of tried to force the issue.
Can the G2L lamp be removed? At this point, I'm hoping I'm not screwed because the factory lamp no longer works and I can't get it out of the housing. Is there a trick to removing it? Is buying a new KX4 my only option? |

If you have the old version of the G2L, it had a P60L LED Lamp Assembly - that should simply drop out of the bezel when you unscrew the bezel from the body.
If you have a current version of the G2L, it features a dedicated LED bezel called the KX4. This bezel is not intended to be disassembled. It is a whole singular unit. It sounds like you have a current G2L with a KX4, and that you're messed it up. You could try giving a SureFire a call, explain what you've done and see what they say. |
