| Ill start off with saying that I'm trying to keep the weight down on this setup. Its a DD M4V5-LW, SF MB556K w/ Trijicon SRS, Magpul BUIS, Magpul STR, RVG and BCM gunfighter grip. All I need is a weapon light. Has anyone tried using a LED version Surefire Aviator as a weapon mounted light. I really like the idea of the red nav lights and the high output normal operation light. I use a SF E2D in a VTAC mount on my BCMeske gun and really like it. I know that this is not the intended use of the aviator and there are lights that are specifically made in this configuration (SF M900 series VFG lights) but most of those weigh significantly more than the Aviator setup I'm planning on using. I'm just trying to see if anyone has used an Aviator in this way and what the result was. Any first hand experience is greatly appreciated. |
