I've gotten my KL3 LED head today, and want to write about it to you guys. But i don't really know what to say. Here are the specs of SF's LED heads: KL1 for E series KL2 for M3 KL3 for 6P M2 C3 and others like it The output and runtime, from SF's specs: KL1 e1 16L 1.5h ... e2 17L 4h KL2 M3 27L 1.5h KL3 M2 19L 4.25h ... C3 19.5L 7h (L is lumens, h is hours) Surefire is not selling whole LED flashlights for some reason, they'll only sell LED heads as an accessory. I've put together a C2+Z48+KL3, which is 2 cell light with the C-style switch. What can I say? It's a damn light. I'm happy with it, but I'm not creaming my pants. It works, and I'll recomend it to anyone who is too pretentious to just get a Inova X5 Tactical. |

Okay I'll add stuff as it comes to mind. The KL3 head is huge. I am so disorganized right now I can't find a ruler to measure its length, but I'd say it is about 3/4" to an 1" longer than than the C2 head it replaced. This is my first time using the Z48 tailcap, this is easily the biggest improvement to their product line this year. I would not want it on my combat lights, but would want them on utility lights. |

I have recently acquired an E2E with the KL1 head and I couldn't be happier. Though the light has a bluish or purplish tint, it has a very uniform and broad beam. I have not noticed the lower lumen output under 30 feet or so, and it is much easier to use for reading, writing, and map reading. Extreme battery life improvement and bulb life as well. Head also fits on the E1 Executive series and works well on it too. I have replaced my trusty 6-P with Beamshaper as my ruck light and will probably get a couple more of the KL1s to use as my house lights. Only downer I have seen so far is the cost. Just my .02 and worth what you paid for it. |
