I can't seem to find a decent review on youtube about this thing.
My question pertains to the operation. I understand how the momentary works - push in for 15 lumens, push more for 200. What i need to know pertains to the constant on. If i turn the bezel all the way to the high setting (or low for that matter) do i still activate the flashlight with the tailcap, or is it just on once you turn the bezel? The way i read it is that the only way to turn the flashlight to constant on is to turn the bezel. I can't believe that a "tactical" light would only go into constant on if you reached all the way up to the business end of a rifle and turned the bezel. Am i understanding this correctly or does it work like i think it should. Any link to a decent video review would be apprecaited. Thanks in advance |

Turn the cap a little and you lock on low power, turn the cap further and you lock on the bright setting. Push the button on the tail cap a little and you activate low power, push it further and you activate the bright setting, but when you release the button it turns off (unless you have rotated the tail cap to a fixed on position. One of the cool features of SureFire's two-stage push-button pressure switch TailCap is that you can LockOut (disable) just the high mode and still access the low mode using the momentary push button.
You can also constant-on the low mode and still access the high mode using the momentary push button. When walking at night I can find it really helpful for low-constant-on, with the ability to press for momentary-high. There are also times when accidentally pressing too-far/hard and getting high output is inappropriate so being able to LockOut the high and still access the low-momentary is helpful. What I really like about the two-stage push button pressure switch TailCap that SureFire use on their LX2, L1, A2L, A2, K2 etc is the speed and versatility. Best in class light. I hate the E2D tail cap clicker design. The pocket clip on the LX2 is awesome. 47 hour runtime on low. 2 hours on high. I liked it so much that I bought my wife one.

Does anyone have one mounted on a rifle?
Do you find it difficult to have to hold the button on the tailcap in to get light? I'm thinking about putting it on my AR. I want a thumb activated light, not a pressure switch.....i just don't know if it would be difficult to hold the button in to keep the light on. I've never had a light on any of my rifles before so i have absolutely no experience here... Any recommendations? Thanks for all the responses. |

There are two major drawbacks as I see it: 1. To keep the light on 'low' requires a very light touch - not easy/possible to do under high stress situations. As soon as the adrenaline starts flowing, all you have is 'high'. 2. To go from 'off' to 'constant high' requires over 1/2 full rotation of the tail cap - a slow and cumbersome process (one must go "through" low to access high). |

LX2 is my favorite light. The beam just stomps everything else into the ground regarding throw, and has great spill as well. Love the laynard and the clip. The UI is stupid proof, and its a SF so it will survive the zombiepacalypse.

I do not use my LX2 as a weapon light. It is the perfect carry light, that is, until the LX1 comes out... |

I see what everyone is saying about the operation being unrealistic in a high stress situation.
After i found out how it operated i decided against it as a weapon light. I think i want a normal clicky tailcap...however the E2D LED's tailcap looks angry. (joke) I'm just thinking that the additional material on the E2D will hinder my ability to turn it on easily. Any recommendations for a weapon light? |

I just ordered one and it is on it's way. Also got a like-new used X200B pistol light the other day which reminded me how nice the higher-end SF's were. I've got a few of the P and G series lights, which are nice, but the E/C/L and up lights are a big step up. May have to get the scoutlight for my rifle. |
