I have two M951 lights. One I recently received off the EE and I have a couple questions about it. First the head seems to have a different color and style then my other light. Second the body diameter is considerably bigger on my new one. The tail cap seems to look different as well as the collar looks to have a different pattern on it also. What do you guys know about the differences or why it would be any different (being the same model of light). Thank you for the help.

Surefire has made different variations in the past 10 years. Both are authentic.

That bottom one looks like it was put together with parts scavenged from other complete 951/952s.  Looks like a frankenlight.

im not convinced BOTH arent frankenlights but i'm far from a surefire expert.

pretty sure the thicker tube is the older style.  the top light has the thinner tube but the older collar/head.  it also looks like it has 2 shades of grey (head and collar look duller than the body).

the bottom light appears to have the older tube with the newer style collar and head (and the obvious brown vs grey color)

op, i dont see anything that looks fake, but it doesnt look true OEM if that is your major concern.  i see nothing that stands out as NON surefire products.

Agreed.

Both look like "put-togethers," but with all authentic parts.

The Surefire M951 has been around for a long time and undergone several upgrades and modifications.
