Does the mini scout have a wide spill profile beam or is it more of a hotspot throw beam?

ETA: Talking about the 200 lumen model.

It will have more of a hotspot/throw pattern.

The Inforce has a better beam and shadow.

Both posts above are correct. If you want a wider spill go with the M600 ultra

Dang I was afraid so.

Too bad the mini scout does not have a wide spill cause it would be the perfect light.

Honestly, the Insight M3X/M6X with LED bezel offers excellent and wide spill. I personally think these lights are fantastic options for indoors. Avoid the incandescent heads...you will be left wanting.

The WMX200 is even better/brighter, but are admittedly cost prohibitive and difficult to source.

Neither matches the SF 300A/B or 600/620 C/Ultra in throw performance. Outdoors, the SF is awesome. Indoors, the Insight LEDs are impressive considering their cost. Plus, you get a .mil-rated light.

I haven't tried an Inforce (their form factor doesn't appeal to me), but they have great reviews and an attractive price point.
