A couple of years ago,I bought some 8mm surplus ammo that was on sale.Can't remember where I got it,it was online.Anyway, the area on the case where the bullet is crimped has a hexagonal appearance instead of just round. I have fired a few rounds of this without any problems but one.Its hard to close the bolt on the rifle. The OAL on the is correct as are the other loaded dimensions. I t almost looks like a blank was converted to a live round. Anybody have any info? By the way,I have 3200 rounds of this stuff.  Thanks ETA:The case has stamped on it 7.9FS 1944.and then 4 other characters that I don't recognize. |
Have you tried it in more than one rifle ? I've shot a ton of that stuff. I've never run into that issue. What kind of rifle ? Have you tried really cleaning out the chamber ? Or tried different ammo ? Turk ammo was a great deal back in the day. But I did get occasional case neck splits etc. It kicks a lot harder than other 8mm too.
