| I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible not to smell the fumes from this stuff no matter how far you try and hold your head from it. It's not like other cleaners it makes you feel like something just hit you in the head or something. I always think all my nosehairs are going to disentigrate when using this stuff, but nothing gets the copper so well like it. I have literally felt like I am going to pass out when using this stuff. Anyone have similar experiences? |

There is a good reason for the strong smell. If you can smell it in the firearm, you need to go back and clean it out. Sweet's is powerful and can etch the bore. I would recommend to be very careful with it since ammonia attacks aluminum, dissolving anodization. Other solvents with ammonia will do the same but at much slower rates. A chamber guide that extends outside of the action to prevent spillage is a good idea when using these solvents. Cleaning the rifle with CLP or other neutral solvent is a good idea. Be careful to not mix it with other bore cleaners. |
