Next week I'll be switching upper receivers.

I will be taking a C MP B barrel off of a slab side receiver, them putting the barrel on a  receiver with a forward assist

I've not done this before any advice or tips would be appreciated, I want to do the job right without messing it up.
Thanks,
Alfred

Go ahead and buy them now. You may lament the price at first, but trust me, you'll use them wayyy more than just this one time.

Those of us who notice such things appreciate that.

Great link, too! I've always wondered just exactly how tight the barrel nut should be, since I don't have a torque wrench. I liked "borrow one from an auto parts store". Brilliant!

You could always post in your hometown forum to see if someone would let you borrow the tools. If you don't want to buy them that is.

Lot of members in AZ which is a big place.  Don't usually loan out my tools but have helped build a couple for local members over the years.  Take your time and keep your hands on the barrel wrench and wrench firmly on barrel nut teeth.  (Will help from breaking off any teeth)   Tighten and loosen  to set barrel nut on receiver a couple of times then tighten snug and turn to line up on gas tube hole.  It helps to line up snap ring with weld spring hole holding from the inside while tightening barrel nut.  I use a short piece of gas tube in a carrier but most anything that fits will work fine.  This allows you to get it right the first time.  Use hi temp grease on threads.  Good luck.
