I can get the CompM3 cheaper, all in, but the T1 is lighter weight on an already light and simple midlength.  Anyone have both that can chime in on which they like better and why.  Pros? Cons?  Or, if you have one of these, I'd like to hear what you like or don't like about either.

Also, thinking about putting on a LMT fixed rear iron sight.  Currently have an arms #40L.  Any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

I have no experience with the T-1 or CompM3, but I do have a LMT rear iron sight and like it. It isn't a "back up" iron sight by any means and doesn't try to be. Great middle ground if you want a robust, non folding rear sight but want to keep rail space for an optic.

ETA- Rock River did just come out with a very similar unit LMT's but instead of a large thumbscrew, it has two low profile screws to reduce snagging. Might be worth looking into.

I have both. I feel that the T-1 is all around the better sight in terms of size, weight, and durability. I do like the larger window of the M3 for shooting on the move and from awkward positions. But, I don't think I am any faster with the M3.

I run both behind Larue fixed rear sights. This is my favorite setup for carbines.

Good deals can be had in the EE. I bought my last Aimpoint ML3 2MOA in a LT-150 mount for $450 shipped.

Ben, I've seen the RRA fixed and like it. Definitely considering since I have a RRA lower (BCM upper).

TripleJ,  good input, thank you.  I'll be shooting hogs off the high rack of the Bronco at night out at the ranch, and i wanted something that was easy to see at night and would give me easy target acquisition.  Good to know there are some inconvenient limitations at weird angles with the T1.  That being said, I'm sure it's something a couple extra seconds of body adjustment would fix.

One thing I like about the Comps is the flip up lens covers (or kill flash on the newer ones).  Easy on and off protection for my lens.  I have this type on all my deer rifles (270, 30-06, etc).  I don't like the cumbersome lens covers that come with the T-1.  Always lose that type of cover.

Ever find that the body of the ML3 is large and creates little blind spots?  Do you find the T-1 pretty much disappears?

A lot of these questions would be answered if I had buddies with these optics, but they all have eotechs or magnified optics, so I can't try it out in the field.

I have a T-1 and a CompM4 (replaced a Comp M3).   The T-1 is much lighter and looks great in either a LaRue tall mount or a Daniel Defense non-QD fixed mount (if you want to save money).

I liked my M3 when I had it.  I like the rubber armor it had that was interchangable if you wanted to replace it or run a different color to match your gun.  But it is heavier than the T-1.  The M3 does have a more generous lense diameter than the T-1 wich is nice for fast moving targets.  But I buy T-1s or H-1s (non-night vision model) on most of my carbines now with the exception of two M4S optics.

If you don't want night vision capability, the H-1 will save you about $50-80 depending on where you buy it.   If you are going to get a LaRue mount, get the combo from LaRue tacticals website so that you save a bunch of money and get the free gear they send with the package.  Plus you know the mount is legit when it comes from them.

I also run the LMT rear sight on two of my guns.  It is excellent.  Flip up rear BUIS are only good if you are running a gun with magnified optics.  A fixed rear BUIS is much faster when you can look through it in a split second if your optic turns off of you need to use irons for a portion of a competition.

I have both. The T1 does everything the M3 does in a smaller, lighter package. T1 is the obvious choice.

The micro is smaller and lighter.

The M3 with a 2MOA dot is better suited for use with a magnifier.
