I'm looking into getting one of these soon but I have two questions.

1) I can't decide between red or green reticle. I have heard that the green is brighter, but I would think that red would stand out more against a mostly green background (when hunting in brush/forest). Anybody have any input on this? Anybody tried both? Which did you like better?

2) Since google hates on firearms related shopping, who has the best price?

Thanks.

I have the red reticle and have had zero issues with it washing out against anything.  It does "turn" black at times due to light conditions, but still highly visible.  I also have a case of color deficiency and see red better...

I just purchased the ta31mco, fantastic optic. I bought mine from Larue. Amazon is slightly cheaper, but Larue has their mount included in the price. They will also send you some additional items with your order. You cannot beat the deal you get with them.

I have both.  I have a TA11 with the red chevron and a TA31F with a red chevron.  I also have a TA11H-G which is the green horseshoe reticle.  I really like the green horseshoe.  The green is really bright and has never washed out in any kind of vegetation around my area.  With that said, you can't go wrong with either.

I had the Ta31 with the green horseshoe and was purposely trying to make the green washout by holding it against green foliage but no matter how hard I tried I could not make it happen.  I very much prefer green to all their other colors and would not consider any other color.  It's that good.

+1 for going with the horseshoe it is my favorite of all their offerings

You guys don't find the 1.5" eye relief of the TA31 too limiting?

I didn't have a problem with it.  I'm 6' and I keep my CTR on the second slot out from fully collapsed on a 4 position colt buffer tube.

I wear glasses, so yep I found the eyebox to be very limiting.

If I were to an Acog again it would be a ta33.

Not really.  In the unit I have been augmenting all their rifles are issued with TA31RCO-M4 scopes.  I wear glasses and I don't really notice much of an issue.  The part of the reticle that you aim with is not that big compared to the entire field of view of the scope, so your head position doesn't have to be perfect to aim with it.

I have a TA31F and TA01NSN.  I wear glasses and don't have any problems with eye relief.  I do well with both TA11's also.

Goes to show how everyone is different. For my to achieve what is "my" comfortable cheekweld. I found my glasses lense almost touching the back of the acog.
