Been wanting a TA33 for my PWS MK114 but I am curious about some stuff about the TA33.  This is my "go to" all around AR.  Are all the reticle options calibrated for a 16 inch barrel? Tried some Google/ARfcom seach-fu and found a thread where someone was saying that the chevron reticle was designed for a 14.5 but couldnt find anything else.  Anyone know for sure?

And I know this has been beat to death but it really is a  tough choice.... horseshoe or Chevron in the TA33? I thought I wanted the chevron but lots of people seem to prefer the horseshoe for versatility which lines up with what I'll be using the rifle for anyway so I am conflicted!

Might get a different mount as well. ADM, larue, any reason to get one over the other?

Any info and preferences would be appreciated!  Thanks!

I m pretty sure its calibrated for a 14.5 with M855.  I have the chevron but wish I went with the donut.  The BAC works great.

14.5" w/M855 but you have to remember it isn't designed for a precision role, BDCs are really just a guide anyway.

The horseshoe is very easy to use with both eyes open and I really feel like I'm giving up very little vs a RDS.

Stick with the TA60 or AC12027 mounts. The others are the wrong height.

TA33 with green chevron on one of my 5.56 rifles and a TA33 with red crosshairs on one of my 300 blk rifles.  Love them!

TA33 green horseshoe on my MK18 mod 1 and TA33 green chevron on my SR15. Both optics kick ass. The GH is very fast and the green chevron gives me a finer aiming point but with adequate speed. The 3X ACOGs are the best fighting optics ever made IMHO

Have a TA33 with cross hair reticle and a TA31 with the red chevron.  I like both reticles pretty well, I have more experience with the cross hair so I kind of lean that way, but as I get more accustomed to the chevron I will feel stronger with it.  However, I like the 4x32 quite a bit better than the 3x30.  You get a much wider FOV and the reticle is bigger to your eye.  I will probably sell the TA33 once the TA31 with 300 blk reticle starts showing up on shelves.

I have the Chevron and I like it. Works just as well as my aimpoint for me.

In my experience, the chevron reticle works for people with better eyes. Mine get tired and I can't focus perfectly and it seems like I am always due for new glasses these days... What happens is the chevron 'grows' when your eyes get blurry and it makes for a few MOA lower POI. This. Will only matter to people planning to do very precise shots under 100m like head shots quickly, but it's enough for me to know that I am done buying chevron reticles from anyone anymore.

You'll notice from his .gif that the TA33 has pretty decent eye relief..... The TA31 is pretty bad for that.

thanks everyone! at this point i'll probably get whatever i can find cheaper with a preference on the horseshoe if I can find one. Went to cabelas and looked through the horseshoe on the ta11 and liked it just a tad more than the chevron for what I'll  be using it for.  the eye relief is the main reason I want the 33.... I have a 4x and for my eyes I have to get pretty close to it.

Thanks again! Now to just see if I can beat that eurooptic price right now but in a horseshoe reticle!

I bought a TA33G chevron reticle from Eurooptic over the weekend for $764! Not sure if the TA33gh is still in stock but it was the same price. Thats a pretty damn good price if you ask me.

In regard to the calibration question, according to Trijicon the reticle is set up for a 62gr bullet at 2858 ft/sec.

Green horseshoe. Haven't gotten to mount it as my upper this is going on is backordered but looks sweet nonetheless.

Also got a TA31 with the red crosshair and rmr backordered. So, i guess if that one actually ships I'll have to build Another rifle...
