I got a TAO1 ACOG used for $400 at the gun show.  Can anyone tell me about it and what role it is best in?  I have a RRA Entry Tactical but am considering building a 20 inch rifle for it as it does not seem to be a close quarter optic.  Most of my background has been the M68 CCO and EOtechs.  Thanks in advance!

Your thanks in advance, lol.

I don't own an ACOG.  I hear the TA01 is suited for a 52gr round on a 20" barrel. Remember I could be wrong.

The TA01 is good for the distances the BDC indicates.  meaning out to 600 yards.  Remember the BDC lines are just guidelines and not perfectly accurate.  Read THIS for more info on that.

As far as I know. ACOGs do really well in close quarters.  Not ideal for really close, but still fine in CQ.

Great deal you got though.

The lady at Trijicon said 55 grain from a 20 inch barrell but it would do fine with my 16 inch at any range I would be shooting at which is usually under 300 Meters.
