I don't normally like things that attatche to weapons with screws, but how has the TLR1 done for you guys? Anyone have it shoot loose? Do they need periodic re-tightening? I was thinking about getting the new 160L version.

I haven't shot it a ton...but it is on my 12GA and I've put a few boxes of birdshot through and some buck and slugs with no issues.

I've had it mounted to my PT92 for about 700 rounds.

Also mounted it to my AR-15 for about 100 rounds.

Still functioning, but i do need new batteries.

ETA: Now that I remember, the bulb went out once at the range, but it just smacked it and it came back on.

4-5 thousand rounds from mine through a G21C, no issues at all.  I really like this light.

Don't waste your money on a M3 though, I had a shit ton of issues with one of those.

ANYTHING gun related that's attached with a threaded screw / nut gets BLUE LOCKTITE on the threads.

I've run a TLR-1 (the orig) through a lot of rounds and have one mounted 24/7 on my G19.  It works great.  I -DID- break the lens during the final "bag drill" in Tactical Response's Advanced Fighting Pistol  light still worked - just had a weird pattern due to broken glass - streamlight quickly repaired it.

The tlr is designed so that it wont come off after heavy use.
It a) uses a clamping method to attach itself to the rail
b) it uses the screw to tighten its previous attachment
