I don't normally like things that attatch to weapons with screws, but how has the TLR1 done for you guys? Anyone have it shoot loose? Do they need periodic re-tightening? I was thinking about getting the new 160L version.

My main beef is you have to remove it to change the batteries but no big deal. I didn't like it at first but it's kind of growing on me i guess, it hasn't fell off or anything but I put a little loctite on the threads.

Yes mine has shot loose.  It does require tightening now and then.  I had it tightened down with a screw driver and it still came all the way off the rifle once.  The bad thing was that I had just camo painted it with krylon so it took me quite a while to find it in the dirt .  Really thought I was out a light there for a little bit.

Minus that I still really like the light.  Its compact and bright, and I still have one of the older first gen ones (supposedly only 80 lumens or so not the current 135).  I would definitely buy another.

There is a thread on the weapons evolution forum where somebody replaced the screw with a larger allen type screw, but I haven't done that.

The only thing I would watch for is to make sure you get all of the little rail spacer things when you buy it.  When I got mine, it only came with the one for glock.  It wouldn't quite lock up right on the picatinny rail.  The retailer wanted me to purchase the additional ones.  A quick call to streamlight CS fixed that and they sent me the others in the mail.
