So, I'm thinking of using the LAPG sale to get a TLR-1, then I saw they're taking preorders on the TLR-3.  Anyone know anything about the TLR-3?

Looks like a new "compact" edition to the TLR series. Looks like its 90 lumens, a little less than the TRL-1 w/C4 which is 135 lumens.

Specs:
Streamlight TLR3 Tactical Rail-Mounted C4 LED Light

# C4 LED delivers 4,100 candela peak beam intensity; 90 lumens. 2-3 times brighter than high-flux LEDs.
# Parabolic reflector produces a concentrated beam with optimum peripheral illumination.
# Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity.
# Runs 1.5 continuous hrs. to the 10% output level
# Includes 5 interchangeable keys to fit a wide variety of weapons
# Rail clamp designed to rapidly attach/detach from side of weapon. One handed snap-on and tighten interface keeps hands away from muzzle when attaching/detaching
# Ambidextrous momentary/steady On-Off switch
# Body constructed of impact resistant nylon polymer
# Face cap constructed of 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with anodized finish
# Borofloat high temperature glass lens
# Waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. IPX7 rated
# Operating temperature: -40°F to +120°F.
# Powered one 3V CR2 lithium battery

Just FYI, I got one of the new TLR-3's from LA Police Gear about two weeks ago.  Nice bright lite weight light.  Mounted on a Glock 19 and stuck it back in the safe till I could go shoot it.  Took the Glock out of the safe today to go qualify off duty with it and found the light detached laying under the handgun rack!  Took a closer look and found the mounting rail had cracked and broke causing the light to come off the pistol.  It was the internal part of the rail system that is actually molded into the light housing so it can not be repaired.  Have to send it back for replacement.  Waiting on directions from Streamlight now.  Hope the replacement works out better than the original.  Did not think I over tightened it when I installed it.  Just used a penny to snug it up was all the pressure I applied and went easy on it then.  Kind of disappointed at this time.  I have about 6 TLR-1 lights with no issues at all.  Jury is still out on this light in my opinion

Well, it's about $30 cheaper than the next closest competitor (Insight X2), is an LED and uses the same battery as <<<.  I'd say if you need a light that size, it's a steal.  Otherwise stick with a C4 TLR-1.
