I am installing a TTO (Primary Weapons System's "Todd's Tiny One" compensator) on a BCM SS410 barrel, and it is taking an INCREDIBLE amount of force to install; I am still about 60 degrees short of where the compensator should be properly indexed.  Any trouble shooting recommendations before I proceed - I am worried about stripping the threads on the barrel.  Thanks

Do you mean that it's hard to thread from the start or after a few turns on? Have you checked the threads for damage and correct pitch? Can you show a pic?

I used a split washer. Alternately you could have a stock of crush washers on hand.

Your local Ace might have some 1/2" washers of suitable design.

It didn't cross-thread- went on fine until it hit the crush washer, turned down like normal but doesnt want to screw all the way down to index properly (PWS recommends that the flats are vertical to the barrel).

Tighten, loosen it up some, then retighten and keep doing that till it indexes.  It crushes a little more every time
