This was a group order from DPMS while i was over seas, i am upgrading the rifle within the next few days. I will continue to update the thread with new pics, as the build continues. Stay tuned for updates.
Just taken out of the packaging. 
Close up of the logo. 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat team, with the unit insignia, wisconsin logo, and operation iraqi freedom 09-10.

Gas block pins removed 
Flash suppressor removed 
Barrel is lubed, and the gas block is coming off. 
Gas block removed 
New VLTOR gas block, with gas tube pinned in place. 
Magpul MIAD grip in place. 
Rainer Arms Low Profile gas block jig in place, ready for drilling. ***UPDATE 1*** 
Pilot holes drilled for the gas block, I used a 11/64 drill bit. 
Slid the jig over, so you can see the pilot holes. 
Ready to be locked down into the vise, and the free float tube installed. ***UPDATE 2*** 
Barrel nut about to come off. 
New barrel nut going on 
Tightening er down. 
Gas block, and tube put on. 
Gas block tightened down

Welcome back! Very nice rifle!  Is that DPMS's teflon finish?I'm not sure. How do you tell? Haha I'm not sure either. My DPMS lower has a matte black finish, while yours has sparkles(?) underneath. I figured that it was the teflon coating because I don't think mine is. Supposedly, the teflon finish is better. |
