I would like to install a 4 railed set of handguards.  I have been reading on here about them but cannot find installation instructions for the MI #20.  Is this something I could do at home or will i need a vise and all that to install? Is it like installing the YHM like I saw on the sticky installations or different.  I like the simplicity of the pop in handguards, but I really like the way the #20 looks..Can anybody give me a detailed description on installation?? Thanks A lot!!

check the build it yourself forum, there is a sticky there that should help you.

I take it you have not purchased this yet?  I looked at the thread eklikwhoa mentioned and it doesn't show the MI #20. I quess your talking about Midwest Industries?
Maybe send MI and e-mail and see if the will send you the directions, that is if they come with some.
I checked the MI site and they don't mention any instructions.
Maybe someone will chime in with the info you need.
I would imagine that you will need some tools but I have not ever installed a FF so take my advice with a grain of salt.

ETA  MI's site says all you have to do is cut of the delta ring?

I haven't done this myself, but it's basically the same as the Troy MRF-C.....in fact they're all the same except the vltor (the 2 piece ff's that is).  Use a dremel to cut on both sides of the delta ring, pry it the rest of the way apart...remove ....do the same with the clip & spring.  Next you mount the top rail, put the clamp on the bottom, attatch with screws.....snap bottom section into place.

I think I'm gonna get one of these.....'cause I'm worried I'll go into some kind of "seperation anxiety depression" if I have to leave my weapon with a gunsmith.  One thing though....I seem to have read something to the effect of barrell nuts breaking because of this style??????  I might be leaning more towards the Troy because it has those 2 little nipples or tabs that seem to take some stress off the barrell nut & put it on the lower.....+ I like nipples.

Take a look at this sticky thread at the Build It Yourself forum, look for the TROY MRF-C step by step instructions at the middle of the webpage.

Assemble Your Own LOWER, UPPER, FREE FLOAT, TRIGGER, GAS BLOCK - Step by Step Instructions! thread link

I have installed all three types of rails, the non free float two piece drop in type (KAC M4 RAS), Troy/ SAMSON/ MI # 20 FF type and the LaRue FF type which required removal of the original barrel nut.
