| Since I have not been paying attention here I didn't realize how hard it is to get to the charging handle with a scope mounted. So now I need to get a tactical latch for my new RRA Predator Pursuit. What do you guys recommend I use? This is a coyote gun but I doubt what I will use it for matters. |

PRI military latch. It is the best and will get the most votes. Second place will be a Badger Gen II latch then you will get nuts who like the Gen 1 Badger as a ditinct minority and even nuttier people in an even smaller minority who say you dont need one at all for your situation. You can go back over dozens of identical threads for years and it is always the same. You really have no need to read any furhter than this post because you already know what will be said. The PRI latch wont poke you and is robust and easy to grab. The Gasbuster includes it and is a wider handle that is easier to grab than the standard one and is designed for suppressed rifles. It is too expensive unless you just want "the best" or have been spoiled by one previously. |
I might have to try one of those |
What Dev said.

How old is that latch? It looks like a one piece cast construction vs the old welded version... |
Excuse me? I'm glad you know what is best for everybody and what everybody uses. Lets see, the only other people Ive seen in Iraq besides me and a few team mates (the other 17 guys in my convoy escort team, which we are all grunts, including two airborne TLs and our short tabber SL) using the Gen 1 tac latch were all short tabbers and 82nd guys (oh, wait, I guess those guys are pretty "nutty" |
I have to agree in my eight years in law enforcement I have only seen Gen I tac latches on SWAT or patrol rifles. I used a Gen II for about 5 minutes then put my Gen I back on. All of the instructor schools I have been to if I saw a tac latch it was a Gen I. maybe its a south west thing. |
Don't do what the 82nd guys do. They don't have a clue. |
