I'm in the process of assembling my first AR and have a few questions..please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere else.

I bought a Tactical Machining stripped lower a few months back and am just now starting to gather parts to assemble it.  I would prefer to get a TM stripped upper to match it but after putting in a phone call to them (extremely nice guy I might add) apparently the only time these uppers are available is when someone cancels an order.  No orders have been cancelled this year and he doesn't expect that to happen anytime soon.  I then asked if he could direct me toward a company that he sells his stripped uppers to so I could purchase one of those for the best possible match.  Unfortunately all these companies have NDA's and he cannot disclose that information.  So, does anyone know who TM sells their stripped uppers to?

Honestly though, how would you know the difference if you had one or another, say Aero Precision?

I guess I really wouldn't know.  I'm kind of OCD about these things and would prefer to have an upper and lower manufactured by the same company.

Aside from that, I would like the color to match as evenly as possible, which I gather from my research can be a problem at times.

Eh, don't let it bug ya.  I'm kinda like that, but with AR's, I just buy from whoever and slap it all together.  So far, on the 4 that I've built, they've all gone together well.

If it's that much of an issue, just get a semi-stripped upper (with FA and DC installed) for $100 or less, and assemble it, and have fun.  If you finally can get the upper you want, swap it out, sell the other one, or save it for another build.
