| I buy your Jig and lowers, no info, instructions, blueprint or measurements with the purchase. I mean come on man! |
|
Lots of info out there, here's some simple versions. Should give you everything you need, jig or not.
This only works with a 7/16" end mill
Without a jig, you'll probably need DRO's to get to these dims.
Everything else I have better is a .pdf, I'll have to see how to upload those.

Have you read the forum on the TM site? Did you read any of the build information that is readily available on this website? Did you call Nathan at TM so he could tell you the 100s (and maybe 1,000s) of places online where this info is available? Have you heard of Youtube? Or Google?
TM is one of the best outfits out there. Maybe you should change your thread title to "I'M A LAZY ASS, WTF". You understand you have to do the machining yourself, I hope. You cannot cry about it until someone does it for you. |

I buy your Jig and lowers, no info, instructions, blueprint or measurements with the purchase. I mean come on man! Don't take offense, but here's the deal. You purchased a fixture for performing precision machining operations. The producer of that fixture should not be responsible for providing you a technical degree in basic machining. You need to do that yourself. |

My only complaint is that it was impossible to find the exact size end mills recommended by TM (engraved on the side of the jig). If I could have used the right end mills it would have been WAY easier. Tell me the diameter, LOC, # of flutes and type of material, I bet I can find them in less than 3 minutes. |

McMaster, MSC, Grainger. Does he even internet? |

I have used all of these companies for many years, they are GTG, IMHO. |

Why the should ask I for something that should come with the purchase? Where does TM offer any build specs or measurements on there [SIC] site? Lazy and entitled. You want them to send a tech out to instruct you one machine use, too? Sheesh. I could maybe see grumbling about this 20 years ago, when you couldn't find the information you seek from 683 sources by simply Googling "AR-15 lower receiver blueprint". But in 2015, finding this information ain't exactly rocket surgery. |

Stop being lazy. if you can't read a set of standard prints for the AR lower, available from a thousand different sources, you probably shouldn't be attempting an 80% lower. |

Where does TM offer any build specs or measurements on there site? They don't, and they never said that you would get a set of blueprints with the lower. Many other 80% vendors don't include that info either. There are plenty of links above with the info though. |
|
Ares has prints with 80% lowers on their site and so does CNC gums
http://aresarmor.com/store/media/ecom/prodlg/AR-Jig-Instructions.pdf http://www.cncguns.com/downloads/AR15/AR15_blueprint-Model.pdf But TM doesn't, and I am told to search the WWW for prints, So why does TM not have a print? I believe they're in the machining business, so surely they have a print of the lower they sell. |
|
TM is a manufacture also and Nathan has stated in the past:
Blueprints .... Availability?? David,
Sorry but due to some ITAR regs we can't send out prints. The jig top plates do have the LOC (length of cut=depth) engraved on them. Wish I could be of more help. Nathan |

Where does TM offer any build specs or measurements on there [sic] site? Umm...step by step instructions are like the third post on the TM "Build it Yourself" forum: http://www.tacticalmachining.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11 This particular post just celebrated its 5th anniversary on the TM Forum. |

I need to double check, but I'm pretty sure my first grade phonics book included the machining diagrams in the front cover.

Lost all hope for Tech.... All of the info is out there. TM 80%'ers, while a great product, are not unusual in anyway. Standard forgings that can be finished just the same as any other standard forging. No odd dimensions or special considerations required. They do not provide instructions on installing the LPK. But it's all the same as the rest of them, and that info is readily available as well.
While we (ARFcom) do not have a dedicated 80% forum, we have lots of threads on the subject. One of the best and most famous being by VaderSpade. Another shameless plug... http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_4/484783_Vader_Spade_s_80__AR_15_build___Milling__Etching__and_Anodizing.html |

WTF Sears.... You sell me sockets and wrenches, but don't provide instructions on how to build a car. Your analogy is effete. OP...it seems like nearly everyone but you agrees that your thread title is inappropriate given the issue at hand, and that despite helpful advice offered, knowledge shared, and yes, even a bit of lashing, you are unassuaged. Hopefully the mods will LOCK THIS THREAD because it is GOING NOWHERE. |

Also all the mill depths are marked on every single top plate. I've done 7 TM lowers and if you go the marked depth and make all the aluminum disappear your lower is finished. Not Rocket Surgery.
If nothing else call Nathan at TM. Give him a chance to help you before u slam TM. WTF PasoGunner |
