It can be done on other equipment buts it's Very dangerous in a drill press. Unless it's an old drill press that uses a draw bolt to hold the chuck in. Drill presses do not like side loading. If the chuck comes loose it's gonna tear up jig, lower and maybe injure you BADELY!
now that's out of the way people do complete the lower on a drill press. I think it's a crap shoot I'm not willing to gamble with You need to supply the "tooling" 3/8" drill bit for safety selector, 5/32" drill bit for trigger and hammer holes, 3/8" end mill for FCP and rear shelf. 5/16" drill bit for trigger through floor of reciever hole. TM will send you a list of needed tooling. Buy good quality tooling. Never trust the measurement on the drill bits. Mic them yourself. I have changed some of the recommended tooling to fit what I do. |

OP, have you gone into the Forum on TM'S website? If not check it out Tons of good info. Also find VaderSpade's tutorial. He walks you through the entire process of successfully completing the TM lower. Just remembered about this info I will checked that out. thanks |

Here's one. You still have to finish with some type of end mill. I have never used one of these type of jigs because I have a JET Milling/Drill press combo machine with an X/Y Table
