I'm planning on getting some C-products mags with the magpul follower, what is the purpose of the optional tactipul?

It allows you to more easily grasp your magazine out of a satchel and more importantly, buffers/protects the magazine body and floorplate fingers from damage when a magazine is dropped on the ground during a quick reload.
