I changed some things around a few days ago with some of my AR's, decided I wanted a 14.5" barrel on my older Colt Sporter receivers. Kind of going for an old school build. Everything went together smooth, new barrel, charging handle, BCG, and buffer tube/assembly (it had an A2).

Never seen this before, but now the rear takedown pin is TOUGH as nails to remove. I need a punch to do it, once it gets 1/2 of the way out it slides fine. First rack is very difficult as well, but after that its smooth as butter. Everything else functions fine. It's been oiled and I've cycled it quite a few times. I can take pictures if needed, but I'm not sure that would help. After the first rack, the pivot pin is easier to remove. I feel like the receivers are canting or something. Any ideas?

What lube are you using ?  Fire Clean gets sticky fast... very sticky.

I won't use it anymore for storage use.

Sounds like a tight upper to lower fit.

Mobil 1.

Its 100% not lube, I can almost feel it catching. friction/alignment or something like that.

Try putting a piece of paper between the upper and lower contact area...( towards the rear pin area )

I had a Colt that fit that tight. I couldn't get the pin in with just that piece of paper added ...  to be continueded...

I pulled a 13'er.

Older Colt lowers have the receiver block. I threw a new bolt in an Semi carrier and no problems.
