What is out there? Looking for one that isn't crazy expensive and somewhat lightweight.

I know of the
larue lt135
Adm recon-h

What are some others?

What are you trying to mount? And on to what? Is there a front Sight post? Would be helpful to know specifics

On AR ar15, no front sight, not a huge scope, don't need anything special. Just looking for taller than standard. I need a 1" tube currently but would still like to know what's out there if it's only in 30mm.

That vortex is 2" offset not tall its normal height.

why do you need a taller mount? I ask because there are often other options like a rail riser or flip up sights to make everything guy together. Mounting a taller scope mount just for the hell of it sounds silly

Rail riser would do the same thing and look much worse, flip up sights I don't need or care about.  A higher mount is more comfortable for me to shoot and my cheek weld feels much better and it works better for my transition to offset dot.  No one said it was just for the hell of it.

I appreciate the responses but I'm just looking for the mounts that are out there not a discussion whether I need it or not.

BTW I see you're right about the Vortex. I didn't read the description probably. I've seen optics mounted on top of carry handles if that helps

Not running a carry handle. Thanks though.

I use a LT-135 of necessity with a very long 6-24x50 target scope used for load development.  It has a 4" sunshade and extends so far forward on a 16" carbine that a lower mount would not permit the sunshade to clear the folded front sight.

I would prefer lower, but must use it with that scope.  The LT-135 has excellent return to zero and is extremely strong and well made.  If you don't need QD you can order it without levers and save $50.

Since this photo was taken, I've installed a slimmer front sight, Magpul MBUS Pro, (front and rear pair) but still need the LT-135 with that scope.
