OK, I've got a preban lower that's screaming for a telestock and a mid-length carbine upper. 1) What's so cool about the new ribbed style as opposed to the original style, other than the number of positions? 2) Except for the number of positions, is there any difference in tele-stock receiver extensions? Can I take a 6 position extension and put an original style stock on it? |

The new ribbed styles maybe are a little tighter than the older styles, they also have more surface area where the stock meets your shoulder. Non-milspec buffer tubes made by nearlt everyone are slightly fatter than milspec buffer tubes (made by Colt and Vltor). Sure you can take an older style stock and put it on a tune with more positions. There's been a lot in the development of stocks in the last year. You have many more and in my opinion, better options than those you have mentioned. Look here for more... www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=189450&page=1 |

I think new-arguy is meant to refer to this post: Which collapsible stock is "the best" you ask? |
