No need to worry:

This is my 6920.  Notice that things don't exactly "line up" between the lower and upper.  Never had any problems.

Now my other Colts, everything lines up.  Once again, no problems.

A home built one I have - Everything lines up.  No problems.

I don't think I would worry too much.

Hell, that's normal on a completely new rifle from one manufacturer.

Its not just the notch thing that's off its the receivers along the whole side.

I think what he's trying to say, is: When you look down on the rifle, top to bottom, the upper and lower receiver are offset by the length of a cut fingernail.

HOW DOES IT SHOOT???

Everything else is just safe queen comments....

IF it shoots, SHOOT IT.

IF you can't hit the broad side of a barn, Swap it....

Ah.  Well, that doesn't matter at all.

It happens, I think I've seen it about every make.

Right on the money. I took her out to the range today and she was fine, the upper being uneven with the lower is just annoying .
