First thing I noticed was the polymer DD dust cover and SiCo ASR mount. Figured I would share.

I believe that’s what he was, didn’t get a chance to talk as my toddler wanted to keep toddling around. The table was between Army and Marines, I think it was across from an Airforce trailer on the other side of the path. Seemed like a nice guy, some old fudd was talking his ear off about some bullshit. I just recall the beret and noticed the patch on the helmet on the table. Quick search pulled up that I believe he was wearing the below SERE beret.

It was a perfect day for it. Seeing the little guy’s face light up with high speed passes from F18 made me so happy. We got it there early before traffic was a mess. I went to the Spirit Air show a ton as a kid, very happy to share that with my kiddos now.

It’s still open tomorrow, but weather looks like shit before noon.

I’m just assuming off the quote I found below when looking up the beret. I could be completely wrong and it’s all a poor assumption on my part. We already proved I assumed wrong on the NODs.

However, CAAs will only be able to wear the berets while assigned to AFSOC, because the change is not an Air Force-wide policy change. Instead, it is an AFSOC major command functional uniform authorization, said Lt. Col. Peter Hughes, spokesman for AFSOC.

This is where I’m at with the encouragement of @wissota4 and now I’m trying to figure out what I want to do for an optic. Definitely want an Aimpoint. A comp M2 would probably be most correct, but I’m really wanting to use a Comp M4. I have a QRP mount that could go with a comp M2. Can I get some opinions?

Are Colt FDE buffer tubes ever used? Ive been going through a whole bunch of pages and don't think I saw anything.

Seems like a good way to cross off another box in shades of FDE bingo.

So I have the stripped mk18 upper from brownells and my psa m4a1 lowers are coming I have the psa sba3 ept kit. I know i’m going to put a warcomp on mine but as far as optic i’m torn. I love Eotech’s but I wish they had a better battery life. I have an MRO that I like so far. Would I be crucified amongst this group if I went with a MRO over an Eotech?

To the guy talking about MRO's and warcomp's....you could do that. But if you want it to be a clone you'll need to run the EXPS 3-0TAN, 553, or Elcan. Hell even a comp M4. And match that with a Surefire SF4P or KAC M4QD....even an SF3P for close enough.

Just slide it on.  But with slight variations between manufactures and tolerences, you may need to lube the barrel with some moly grease and tap it on with a soft nose/wood hammer.  Align the set screw holes with the dimples in the barrel.

I attempted to slide it on and it's definitely going to take a fair amount of coercion. I will try grease and see if that gets it going at all.

I appreciate the help.

I had a really tight fit on my Mk12 with a Centurion Arms SPR barrel and a Badger Mk12 gas block. I opted to hit the ID of the block with some green scotch brite and oil. Slightly "wet sand" the ID, wipe clean, and test fit. I stopped when I was able to tap it on with a dead blow hammer. Before that it was not taps, but full on swings to get that block on and off that barrel. Go slow and check often, you can always remove more material but cannot add it back on. I didn't want to take too much out either, as the tight fit of the Badger Mk12 block is a great feature on the Mk12 to prevent gas leak.
