My very first SBR purchase was a 10.5 6.8 SPC. When Photobucket went paid subscription only, I lost all the photos that were primarily posted on here and now that I have time to may my way back to the site, I'll see what I can dig up. 18" N6  10.5 Switchblock. This upper initially had the shorter rail prior to them offering the cut out and I was able to send it back to have the newer style rail put on. I used the original rail building a 12.5 Switch Block.

I've had a Leupold Mark 6 3-18 H59 on it since about 2018ish and shot a couple Quantified Performance matches with it and out of the 5 squads we crossed a bunch with, was one of very few that got a hit at 1163 yards with 5.56.  |

Thank you for the reply. I just jumped back on this forum after about 8 years away and only ever had IG as far as social media goes but deleted that 6 years ago so, I have to figure out the best way to keep informed especially with offerings just like you got since Noveske said that they had no plans (at the time) of offering (at least the 18") Ops profile barrel. I have a shooters log for every round fired from and my Limited SPR and while still very serviceable, I plan on beating the hell out of it even more now that I finally am done being a Traveling Sports Dad and would love to have a spare barrel on hand just cause. |

It slides over the barrel and indexes off the thread shelf, called the Canadian C8 Collar. But, you cannot send a Noveske SS barrel to be profiled for an OPS collar without needing a custom collar made - the OD of the SS noveske barrels is too thin for the standard collars. |

I appreciate all the info. Do you know if this 20" barrel is thick enough to have it cut to 18" and then profiled? Only wish it was optimized for 77gr OTM since that is what I have primarily shot the past 13 years and have stocked up on. Either way, I only have 2,415 rounds through it so I'm sure it's got plenty of life through it still for the type of shooting I do as well as just using off the shelf mk262 and BH 77gr anyways. I just have no intentions of ever selling this rifle as it has been the rifle all three of my daughters have all first learned to shoot AR's with each on each of their 10th Bday's. Noveske 20" Precision Barrel ETA: Pic will be 14 years ago next month when my eldest started leaning how to handle firearms.

I was talking about these profiles that are most common and on the Noveske site: https://noveske.com/products/lo-pro-gas-block-barrel-5-56/ That one you linked looks like a much heavier HBAR profile so it's possible it can be profiled. |

Found an oldie diggin through my picture archives. This was my very first Noveske product purchased and was so impressed that I ended up with at the height of my collection, having (13) Factory or Noveske barrel built uppers. I had every length they offered as well as a 6.8 SBR. At the time, the only product that I could not get myself to purchase was the 12.5 .308 caliber Leonidas. 16" Noveske SS RECCE Barrel with the NF 2.5x10x24 FC2 / KAC 30mm Mount / URX1 Rifle Length / FDE Magpul M93 Stock.

Is SWS doing a run of rails again? I see all the crossposts from the usual circle of accounts on IG of their stuff but not sure if theyre actually going to do it. |

Since we were posting old Noveske's, this was the first one I ever bought back in 2007 if memory serves me correctly. I still own it. "Skinny MOE" was the model, and it actually came with all the foliage magpul parts from Noveske. The rear backup sight in foliage is pretty rare, I think?

I definitely agree and at the time, I was in my wanting "the latest and new hotness phase" so really only sent the 10.5" inch because at the time, I also had the 12" Switch Block version as well with the short rail and SB in front of it. Another deciding factor was I also had this added to the collection. Factory KAC FSGB SBR.. If it's any consolation for this being a Noveske pic thread, this rifle does have a Noveske QD endplate and a SD3gun trigger in it. LOL...

Picture is from about the same time frame. 2007-2008. Three of the lowers are pure numeric serial numbers. Lowest is 18XX and highest is 2300. First two on the left are factory SBR's. 5 of the 8 pictured are Noveske's or Noveske barrels  |

At the time I built this upper, I had other 14.5 midlength gas suppressed rifles so wanted to try the (at the time) was one of newer hybrid comps. IMO, it did a good job at mitigating felt recoil and wasn't throwing flames like a brake. This was assembled probably in 2010/11 and for 5 straight years in a couple of classes, training and monthly 2gun competitions. Since then, it's a loaner for any of my friends who may want to give matches a try. Probably has roughly an estimated 35k rounds through it, It still is capable of 400 yards hits on C zone steel with 55 FMJ.. I still enjoy shooting it for sure.

I have a couple 11.5" Noveske barreled uppers, this tan one was dimpled by Pitts probably 10-15 years ago. They have always been good shooters with good accruacy. Does anyone here have experience with the 18" Noveske DDF in 5.56?
