Sad the build is over.

What do you see as the purpose of the short magazine in the butt stock?
9/21/2013 1:33:42 PM EDT
[#2]
The buttstock will hold any size mag.
When shooting prone the 10 round mag has no chance of getting in the way.
The ability to counter-balance the forward weight of the bipod, etc. is also nice.

Schmidt & Bender or US Optics would be a better option for "ultimate" build. But looks good OP.

It looks good OP, go get some range time.

By the way, those rail covers you have there. if you stipple them they, it makes them a lot less slippery.

Might want to move that rear sight to the very last rail position.  It will give you just a little better sight radius.

You should hang some fuzzy dice from the bipod.

Well if you were going for the franken aspect, you'd have all different parts making up your upper

Looks good!

This rifle, in my mind, is the ugliest FrakenAR I have ever seen.....

With and without a loaded mag in the stock.

Looks good but I question the use of that stock.

I applaud your enthusiasm and remember my first build.  There are a number of things I would change to make it my 'ultimate' but of course that is subjective.  You have a very nice looking AR with just a few little oddities.  With a scope of that magnification you might want a stock that offers more of a cheek weld.  Unless that scope mount is quick detach, you might as well sell the magpul sights, the AFG, and that stock, and get a Magpul PRS or UBR.

But of course that is just my opinion.  Enjoy your new rifle!

My first frankengun weighs in at 13 pounds......unloaded
Now I like 'em simple and light!!!!!
