| IMO a great show. Caught it last night right after NCIS, also a great show. The Unit was in South America re-appropriating some Stingers. They were using an SPR and suppressed M-4's. Their rigs looked dead on GI, not the Hollyweird style of assault weapons. |

Great episode I never saw "24" until 6 months ago, and in about 5 or 6 episodes saw it as BS But The Unit seems fairly genuine - save the wife/gf drama edit: Just played it back (TiVo) and wouldnt be surprised if MTSN were the technical advisors on the set. Those SPR's are beauties!! |
We have been supplying a handful of movie prop companies with AR uppers and components. Not sure if any ended up on that specific movie/TV set. (we have not done an SPR)
I have also noticed a lot of Oly roll marked lowers in movie and TV productions. |
Well, then markm sure won't like the show... ![]() joe |

A lot of the conversion M16's I sold over my many years in the class III business were Olys and quite a few PWAs and Sendras. Most of these guns were pre '86 and fully tranferable. Colts were also converted but were not as popular because of the Large pin issue. Denny |

If you noticed, the credits list Eric Haney as an advisor. He is the author of "Inside Delta Force" from his website For more than twenty years, Command Sergeant Major (retired) Eric L. Haney served in the United States Army’s most demanding combat units: As a Combat Infantryman, as a Ranger, and ultimately, as a founding member and eight-year veteran of the Army’ super secret counter-terrorism arm, Delta Force. Inside Delta Force is Eric Haney's story. And THE UNIT, which airs each Tuesday CBS at 9 p.m., is that story brought to life by some of the finest actors and craftsman working today. |
Burning up time with the wife drama takes away from developing the story line during the ops. Even for a 1 hour show, everything seems rushed and to wrap up too quickly. |
Probably trying to enlarge the viewing demographic, but I agree - drop or cut way back the spouse backstories. |

+1 - it's a great show! Probably better w/o all the domestic crap, but then my wife probably wouldn't be watching it with me! BTW - we both think 24 is a great show. But you have to watch it from Episode 1 to the end, and you have to take it with a grain (or two) of salt, kinda like Mission Impossible or James Bond (but not THAT much salt). |
haha, you're right. Well, atleast externally they looked right... |

There was a scoped rifle on the far side of the group. It was probably just poor video editing, the sequence of shots was off. But there was a scoped rifle, which would explain the crosshairs. JMO. joe |

1) The writing on the show sucks, which is suprising considering that David Mamet directs and is a competent writer and director. 2) The reality on the show also sucks, which is suprising considering they have CSM Haney as a technical advisor* 3) Are the technical forums really the place to discuss your favorite soap opera with guns? * Just to make a brief point on that, the show mentioned was supposed to be occuring in South America circa 1980s and yet they all have M4s with Aimpoint M2s, SPRs and other AR mods developed in the last four years - and believe me that is a very tiny and insignificant detail compared to some of the stuff shown As for some on this board saying Haney is less than reputable, they would just be repeating what several other members of the same unit he belonged to have now said publicly.
