I am thinking about buying a 14.5" mid length light weight Spike's Tactical upper. I am looking at getting it with a low profile gas block and I have the option of getting the Spike's 12" BAR  Rail. My question is... Is there anyone who has that rail and can give me some feedback on it? I was also looking at getting the Daniel Defense 12.0 Omega rail. I already have a rifle with a DD rail so I know about those, but I have never seen a Spike's rail. So if anyone has any input on quality, how it feels, weight... etc compared to the DD rail it would be appreciated. Or if you have any other rail suggestions, let me know.

I have never handled or shot a Spike's rifle, but I have only heard good things about them.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I just built this 14.5" a few months ago using the KAC URX III and it's extremely light weight even with a govt profile barrel..I have a DD 12" Lite rail and as you know is a quality rail. Sorry but, i don't have experience with the SAR and I'm just throwing out another option for you.

Haven't owned or handled a BAR rail myself. But I have heard that the BAR rail is too big around and uncomfortable for some peoples hands, and that it was designed to cover the rear portion of a suppressor. Spikes SAR rail might be a better option as it is slimmer. IMO.

Spikes rifles have a good rep around here. I don't think you will find many people with bad things to say.

Sometimes I wish my LMT Defender was a 14.5 but then I pick her up and realize she is perfect the way she is.

Thanks for the input guys. I was worried about the rail being too big and possibly a little heavy. I'll probably just stick with the DD because I know I will like it.
