I bought 3000 rounds of the Wideners XM193. I was going to shoot some this weekend, but my wife came down with bronchitis, so I went to the docinabox with her and played Dr. Kildare. Now all I can think about is not being to replace it if I shoot it up. Even worse, I am fixated on the fact that if I shoot up a hundred rounds, I won't have 3000 (a satisfying, round number) but 2900. 2900? What kind of deal is that? I SHOULD have bought 3100 or 3200. What kind of email medicine can I take for this OC problem? What are the chances of you sending me a couple of hundred rounds? I know someone out there has, say, 5200 stashed away. We could both achieve harmonious levels. Don't commit now. Just let the idea knock around awhile. It will slowly take hold. Slowly. Inevitably.

Lemme guess, you're some kind of dweeb math major, right? Let's just save bandwidth and can the smartass replies. I need HELP here! Compassion. AMMO! |

Kind of lost me with that whole Dr. Kildaire thing, but I think I have a solution for you :-) Buy some bandos and strippers from Wu's and ammo cans wherever you can find them. Take what's left of your 3k and load it into 3 ammo cans, 7 bandos each, 840 rounds each for a total of 2520 rounds. That will leave you a few hundred odd rounds to shoot, and nothing is more complete than an ammo can loaded with 840 rounds on strippers in bandos. The warm fuzzy feeling inside should return. Then buy some commercial stuff for everyday blasting and put your cans in a safe place. I have a similar problem with q3131a. I need 320 rounds to be able to finish filling an ammo can with bandos. Oh, and south african? I need 420 rounds to finish up an ammo can of that. Of course, I could top both of these off with XM193, but it just doesn't seem right ![]() |
Dr. Kildaire- probably a little before your time- check out TV LAND. You're onto something, there. I got a quote last week for strippers, etc. from Wu's last week. I'm sending an order asap. But can I open my ammo can, look at all those pristine little brown boxes nested so precisely- waiting to be used for some holy purpose- and then SAVAGELY RIP THEM OPEN? On the other hand, stripping them up and cramming those bandos in the can is appealing as well. Thanks, you have given me a steely resolve. My confidence is returning. Boy, I'm glad I don't have this problem with Bourbon. I had no trouble opening a bottle of Van Winkles last night. And it's about as hard to get here in Alabama as the 193! |
| I'm a bit relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks about this crap. I had the same issue when I went from 5K to 4850 in December after killing a case of Winchester white box and and a bunch of reloads. The ammo can solution worked for me, but given time the "shoot another 850 rounds" solution would have worked it out. I'm doing the "shoot 100, load 100 on the Dillon" thing at this time. |
Yup. I have the same dilemma. Welcome to "Ammo Whores Anonymous". Here's your membership card..... |
| I'm WORKIN' on it. Thought I had a refund this year to finish out my reloading stuff, but I lost a dependent (taxwise) and I owe them. Have a nice stash to pay it off, but I thought I was going to be able to use it for a better purpose than whatever Washington has planned for it. Oh, well, one more year of tuition and I'll just buy Lake City. |

OK, not at all.
